|Known as Ski Town,USA , this lovely town with a genuine Western flair is famous for it’s “champagne powder” which attracts skiers from all over the world. Long considered a winter destination only, Steamboat Springs has also come into its own as a summer getaway over the past decade. It’s natural beauty together with numerous activities has transformed this quaint Rocky Mountain town into a top destination summer resort.
Steamboat got its name in the mid-19th century when trappers thought they heard the chugging sound of a steamboat when in fact they later learned the noise was from the bubbling mineral spring.
Of Note: Steamboat offers its Kids Ski Free program making it the ultimate ski destination for families.
