Year Round Activities in Steamboat Springs

Spring in Steamboat Springs offers excellent kayaking, tubing, white water rafting, fishing in addition to spring skiing which lasts until mid April.  Make sure to attend the “Strings in the Mountains” music festival in June.   Beginning in May experience the Howler Alpine Slide, 

Winter Ski Season begins around Nov. 25…. enjoy world class downhill skiing or cross country skiing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, ice climbing, ice skating, horseback riding, sleigh rides, hot air ballooning, the list goes on.  Remember, Steamboat offers a Kids Ski Free Program!

We recommend gourmet snowshoeing or hiking at the top of the gondola which includes lunch!

Fall is the perfect time to visit when you can take the gondola up the mountain and explore the hiking trails or try it on mountain bike (bikes available for rent), fish, golf, hot air balloon, horseback ride … Attend the Wild West Air Fest in September, theGreat American Wild West Show, or the Art on the Mountain show.

Summer in Steamboat offers Golf, Fishing at Creek Falls, Pro Rodeo every weekend, …  Visit Strawberry Park Hot Springs, or starting in June, take the gondola up and have Brunch on the Mountain.  TheFree Summer Outdoor Concert Series shouldn’t be missed.  July brings Rainbow Weekend – a 3 day festival of hot air ballooning followed by August’s Wine Festival!

Year round, the Main Street area is a great place to shop and eat.  There are numerous good restaurants and a vibrant night life.  Free city shuttle to downtown Steamboat Springs is available right at Christie Base with service until 2 a.m.
